CORRECTION RE NIEA GRANT
Our last chairman's letter (June 2009) read that 'NIEA's Conservation Area grant has been slashed', but of course that grant is issued by the Planning Service, not the Northern Ireland Environment Agency.
The NIEA has instead bolstered its funding to provide further support for listed building owners, and the leverage this public money has created is remarkable. For every £1 of historic building grant spent, £5.7 is generated from other sources. If only Planning Service would follow suit!
