2011 Llandudno - IHBC Annual School
2011andudno - Insitute of Historic Building Conservation Annual School
Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th June 2011
St George’s Hotel, The Parade, Llandudno
In the current environment of reductions to public services and the emerging localism agenda, this year’s Annual School will be an exciting opportunity to explore the range of new opportunities, approaches and solutions to conserving the historic environment. For the foreseeable future finding different ways of delivering services will require a need to innovate and find original responses to current and future challenges. Fruitful reactions to the current financial climate may be found within partnerships and collaborations, which offer different models of conservation and stewardship. This conference will provide a platform for networking and sharing ideas to protect and enhance the historic environment for the future.
The programme of seminars and site visits is designed for all professionals working in the historic environment, in planning, architecture, urban design, heritage management, landscape or in other conservation projects and initiatives. The School welcomes people working in national and local government, private practice, education and voluntary bodies.
The Annual School will bring together speakers from many backgrounds and across the UK to talk about the potential impact of the current uncertain times and the opportunities that such change will bring to the heritage sector. They have also invited the Heritage Minister to be the lead speaker on Friday morning as part of the Day School.
