Buildings at Risk show their potential - BBC 'Restoration Homes'

The BBC has just started a new series following the fortunes of 6 owners as they restore their Buildings at Risk. The buildings being restored are part of the 'English Heritage at Risk Register' and in each episode the owners are followed through out the project from planning to conservation.

In the first episode a young couple take on and completely transform the Thomas a Becket church into a home. If you missed it watch it here:

The rest of the series will be on BBC2 Tuesday evenings at 8pm. Perhaps when you are watching you might consider taking on a project like this in Northern Ireland. Over 40% of the BHARNI register is made up of former homes, which could be restored, not to mention the other properties which could be converted and adapted for domestic use. If you want to find out more contact the UAHS and take a look at the BHARNI register online to find out about buildings at risk in your area.
