Planners recommend approval to demolish Swanston's linen warehouse - AGAINThe UAHS judicially reviewed the Planning Service's decision to approve demolition of Swanston and Bones' linen warehouse in Belfast City Centre Conservation Area. That approval was quashed by the High Court in January 2010. Despite the fact that the Case Officer, (supported by the Conservation Officer and Conservation Area Architect) recommended refusal of this application, the group decided to overturn her decision and have now approved the application once again. Without a Ministerial intervention the only way the building can be saved is again via the High Court. |
