Crumlin Road Courthouse Fire Damaged

A fire took hold at the Crumlin Road Courthouse on 12th March. A quick response from the Fire Service has ensured that important original interiors have remained intact.  Owners need strong guidance on how to safeguard empty buildings at risk.

'At Risk' Historic Buildings Highlighted in New Catalogue

The Environment Minister, Sammy Wilson MP MLA, today launched the Built Heritage at Risk Northern Ireland Catalogue, Volume 8, at Crumlin Road Gaol in north Belfast. This is the eighth catalogue to have been published by the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency.

B1 listed 'Piney Ridge', Malone Road, Belfast, was demolished without consent during the Easter holidays. The Society has called upon the DoE to act swiftly to punish this offence, helping ensure that others are deterred from pursuing the same course of action.
